One of my favorite things to do as I travel across the USA and around the world is look for local chocolate. This is how I found StoneGrindz on a Christmas trip to Arizona. The Hacienda Victoria 85% is truthfully my favorite chocolate I have found so far. I will enjoy this as a treat quite frequently but that will not deter me from my quest as things open back up and I am able to travel more again.
This is absolutely the best chocolate bar made in the United States. I love chocolate, so much so that I've spent weeks in Europe just traveling place to place in search of great chocolate. Normally I stick to 88-100%, which is easy with the amazing chocolate available out of France, but this 85% is superb. It's every bit as good as the best bars from Jean-Paul Hevin and Arnaud Lahrer. It's better than any bar I've had from Patrick Roger, across multiple years and harvests. It's better than anything I've had from Michel Cluizel, save for maybe his 99% ganache. Forget Lindt, Green & Black, Vosges, Madecasse, Alter Eco etc. I've tried them all and too many more to list, they're not even in the same ballpark. Akesson makes a fantastic bar but not quite this good. This Hacienda Victoria bar isn't just Arizona good, or USA good, it's world-class good and rivals the best bars I've ever had from multiple MOF's out of France.
Haven’t tried them yet. Very impressed with quickness of delivery and the refrigerated packaging.
